Oversee planning and preparation of work orders for work to be performed by the respective engineers to ensure the plant is maintained in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner.ResponsibilitiesDetermine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance.Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensure adequate working conditions.Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide employee safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.Inspect, test, and measure completed work, using devices such as hand tools and gauges to verify conformance to standards and repair requirements.Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts.Perform skilled repair and maintenance operations, using equipment such as hand and power tools, hydraulic presses and shears, and welding equipment.Effectively oversee maintenance personnel to ensure that all assigned activities are performed effectively and efficiently in accordance with plant procedures and local, state, and federal regulations.Oversee preparation of work instructions that provide direction to theEngineering Department for corrective maintenance repairs, performance of preventive maintenance and the implementation of modifications.QualificationsRequires high school diploma, or equivalent. Purpose of Role: Rebuild, repair or overhaul all types of can manufacturing and other types of equipment or machine parts. Will also perform various building maintenance and repairs. Key Accountabilities Must be able to use all required hand and power tools. Maintain all Boiler/Coolant/Chiller feed water systems including adding salt to water softeners. Perform Boiler sediment flush/blow down periodically. Proficient in Welding, Brazing and Metal Fabrication. Proficient in All Metal and PVC Plumbing up to 100 psi. Perform general building maintenance tasks as required. Must keep work area clean, neat, and orderly per 5s program. Must understand and follow work instructions and procedures related to this job function. Must perform Daily / Weekly / Monthly / Yearly checks and maintain records as required. Must repair and maintain equipment such as Mechanical pumps, diaphragm pumps, mechanical seals, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, gearbox, steam boilers, etc. Must repair and maintain and install equipment such as Mechanical pumps, diaphragm pumps, gearbox, various manufacturing equipment, etc. Must assemble production equipment such as Pin Chain, varnish applicator rolls, conveyors belts etc. Experience with monitoring using data analysis, pump vibration analysis, compressor systems, lube oil analysis, etc. is preferred. Experience with new equipment installation is preferred. The candidate must be willing to operate scissor lifts, boom lifts and forklifts as required. The candidate must be willing to perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on Fire Sprinkler system, Compressors, Vacuum Pumps, Air Dryers, Boilers, Pumps, Fans, HVAC equipment, Thermo oxidizer, Conveyors, Gearboxes, Fans etc. Must do other tasks as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Must have a high school diploma. Five years of experience as Millwright servicing manufacturing equipment preferred. Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor and other members of management Candidate will be required to take a test to prove his or her abilities. Position Description: Maintain production facility and equipment, with a Safety-minded attitude that maintains and enhances a Safety-culture for the benefit of the Company and its employees, to insure safe and quality products by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment; and providing support to equipment such as HV/AC, boilers, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration system, blenders, processing and packaging equipment. Primary Responsibilities: Ensures operation of plant machinery utilizing both electrical and mechanical skills to troubleshoot equipment and completing preventive maintenance requirements Controls downtime by ascertaining needed repairs and parts replacement, and completing repairs in timely fashion Fabricates repair parts by machining items to specification as necessary Provides mechanical maintenance information by informing production workers of routine techniques, answering questions, and responding to requests Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and updating certified skill levels Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned and needed Supervisory/Management Responsibilities: Not applicable.
