We are currently looking to hire a Procurement Manager for one of our clients to based in Bakersfield, CA or Paramount, CA. Our client is a leading industrial contractor specializing in petrochemical, power generation, heavy industrial, manufacturing, and processing facilities with a focus on sustainability.The Procurement Manager is responsible for the company-wide Procurement program including negotiating favorable terms, ensuring contract compliance, maintaining documentation, monitoring supplier performance, and coordinating with project stakeholders to optimize project delivery and profitability. A passionate cost optimizer and value maximizer with a commitment to customer service will excel in this role. Below is a list of the key responsibilities for the role, whilst not exhaustive, that you'll need to be able to perform.Collaborate with Project Manager and VP Contracts to develop procurement plans and contracting strategies. Enhance project delivery and profitability through effective negotiation of purchasing and contract terms. Ensure alignment of contract terms between client contracts and company purchases. Manage procurement processes from requisition to final acceptance, including document management and coordination. Monitor materials and services status throughout the procurement lifecycle. Provide regular forecasts of procurement commitments, expenditures, and delivery status. Support Project Manager in establishing project procurement plans and procedures. Maintain updates on supplier and contractor activities and performance analysis. Communicate promptly with project team regarding any changes to purchase or contract schedules. Coordinate with engineering and QAQC to ensure compliance with quality standards for vendors and contractors.To be successful in the role you'll need to have 10+ years procurement and contracts experience and a bachelor's in engineering, business, finance, construction management or related field of study. Strong negotiation and communication skills are key for this role as well as previous experience within the Industrial Construction industry.
