Approximately 70% of time is spent in the laboratory testing the performance and safety of products such as personal care products as well as assisting with general laboratory operations. Approximately 30% of time is spent doing desk work, typically inputting study data. Clinical Research Coordinator Cosmetic Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following : • Conduct standard safety testing of personal care products like shampoos, lotions, and cosmetics. • Interact directly with customers via phone, email and in person. • Interact directly with clinical study subjects in person. • Prepare, complete, and review experimental datasheets and reports. • Assist with basic laboratory needs, such as cleaning, organization, or equipment validation. • Maintain and improve lab documents and record keeping procedures. • Maintain a safe, fast-paced, and positive laboratory environment. If you are excited about a role but don't meet every bullet point, we encourage you to apply and join us to create the extraordinary.Job SummaryTo support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Quality Technician located in Austin, TX.Shift - 1st Shift 8:00am-5:00pm Mon-FriWhat a typical day looks like:Audits processes, tests and inspects products and/or develops, compiles and evaluates statistical data to define and maintain quality and reliability of products.Working from engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, diagrams, written descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform complex engineering testing, checkout, First Article Inspection, root cause research, internal corrective actions and supplier correction actions.Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to define quality and reliability standards.Selects processes to be audited from primarily the manufacturing areas and checks for a variety of features, including ESD (electro-static discharge) and handling practices, documentation, training and process integrity.Selects products for audits at specified stages in the production or post-production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance and mechanical, electrical or cosmetic characteristics.Records audit data, applying statistical quality control procedures.Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards, programs or reports to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.Perform calibration on inspection tools e.g. micrometers, calipers height gages etc.Maintain gage track program, print list of gages due for calibration in the beginning of each month and follow up with calibration.Send gages out for calibration, maintain calibration records.Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for research data.Download quality information from quality system to be used for QA reports.Research for engineering test results and implements process changes to resolve problems.Performs out of box audits (OBA) as required.Provides factory hold up to identify and resolve issues associated with purchased parts, materials and manufacturing.May be required to perform receiving inspection.Review at the beginning of the shift the Quality Auditors assistance and validated the Check List.Scrap disposition at MRB in less than 24 hours.Assure that the Customer implementation activities are in place.Meet the SSYMA requirements (boats, goggles, gloves, ear plugs).Review the SPC data and confirm the actions are effective.Validate the tooling and gauges are working properly (microscope, magnifier, etc).Qualifications:Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, technical training, or equivalent experience.Typically requires a minimum of 4 years of related experience.What you’ll receive for the great work you provide:Full range of medical benefits, dental, visionLife InsuranceMatching 401KTuition ReimbursementEmployee discounts at local retailersJob CategoryQualityIs Sponsorship Available?NoFlex is an Equal Opportunity Employer and employment selection decisions are based on merit, qualifications, and abilities.
