The Quality Technician conducts testing on incoming and outgoing materials to ensure conformance to all quality requirements both internal and external. In addition, this role maintains the lab in a safe and organized manner to comply with all corporate or governmental policies for safety, environmental, and quality and assists with plantwide ISO 9001 compliance in whatever capacity required. GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Quality Technician conducts testing on incoming and outgoing materials to ensure conformance to all quality requirements both internal and external. In addition, this role maintains the lab in a safe and organized manner to comply with all corporate or governmental policies for safety, environmental, and quality and assists with plantwide ISO 9001 compliance in whatever capacity required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual batch testing activities per product and procedural requirements. Perform periodic calibrations of lab and plant equipment. Participate in the development of quality specifications for raw materials, finished products or substitute materials. Support ISO Quality systems by understanding quality expectations, work instructions, and completing proper quality documentation. Perform periodic quality audits of production processes and finished goods. Communicate with other departments about the status of quality material. Perform first-piece inspections on finished products. EDUCATION: High School Diploma required EXPERIENCE: Minimum one year of related experience working in Extruded Rubber Products (ERP) or similar industry. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: ISO knowledge Knowledge of lab testing and extrusion/mixing raw materials preferred Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Strong computer skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Re-testing boxes of material on QC hold. This process involves the lab tech lifting boxes and spools of EnerEDGE which can weigh between 25-50 lbs. GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Tremco's Commercial Sealants and Waterproofing division is currently searching for Operator I's at our Ashland, Ohio facility. This position starts up, troubleshoots, and operates manufacturing equipment safely and routinely while achieving or exceeding standard levels of scrap, timing and output rate a majority of the time in one of the manufacturing areas listed below. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform work in a safe manner by following all written and verbally communicated safety rules and procedures. Produce product according to tolerances on blueprints. Perform routine measurements per quality standards. Read and interpret extrusion instructions. Maintain accurate paperwork. Correctly package and label products. Perform daily housekeeping duties: sweep, mop, chip salt, skim, and maintain 5S areas. Routinely meet or exceed production output rates per standards. Setup and operate various off-line and secondary equipment to include cutters, tape machines, punch press, hot box, and reeling machine. EXPERIENCE: No prior experience or training needed; rubber molding experience preferred. OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to function effectively in a team setting. Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail Ability to work overtime. BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION: The hourly rate for applicants in this position generally ranges between $15.85 and $17.00. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operations, needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
