Job DescriptionThe Mill Room Helper assists the Mill room Attendant in the Porcelain Department, reporting to Boiler.This position will serve our Water Heating Division, located in Montgomery, AL.ResponsibilitiesMust receive and store raw materials. Must fill pressure tanks from storage vessels. Set-up and administer Erwin slump test for proper viscosity, and if necessary, make correction by adding necessary chemicals or additives. Deliver and remove pressure tanks to and from work area as needed using a mechanical walk along device. Replace screens and parts in pots, and any other equipment as directed. Clean general mill room as required. Transport enamel from storage tank fill to 60-gallon spray pot. Will be responsible for cleaning and inspection of screens for damage. Maintain good housekeeping in work area. Observe all departmental safety requirements. Inspect units or parts for defects and workmanship. Work from written or verbal orders. Perform other related duties as required by supervisor. Must be able to apply chemicals to slump to increase or decrease thickness. Must be able to perform and document quality checks i.e. slump testMust be able to understand and read a measuring cup. Must be able to perform preventative maintenance on pressure vessels, lift assists etc. Must be able to connect large hoses to storage tanks and provide a mixture of virgin and reclaim to pressure vessels.
