Position Summary: Engineer with mechanical design experience, highly investigative mind inclined toward developing practical solutions for semi - automated production equipment to improve manufacturing productivity. Interact with suppliers for commercial components final selection and write purchase requisitions. Develop molds, dies, tools, fixtures, and jigs to be used in manufacturing process. Plan/develop layouts new machines, plants, equipment, and tool designs to provide maximum possible operating efficiency. Ensure to follow equipment construction based on plants capabilities. POSITION SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for to planning, direction, control and implementation of manufacturing methods, facility and process design and fabrication, process documents and specifications. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Responsible for preparing and testing product samples.  Cuts, tests, and documents results for required samples. Samples include tensile, Charpy and hardness specimens. DUTIES:  Inspect samples to dimensional requirements using various gages and optical comparator. Test samples using tensile test machine, Charpy tester, cooling bath, and hardness tester. Record test results and maintain traceability. Perform and documents required periodic equipment/lab conditions checks. Maintain equipment. Perform daily housekeeping. Participate in 6S and continuous improvement programs. Be fully committed to continuously improve the process. Follow Vallourec HS&E standards and policies, understand the Risk Assessments pertaining to operations, and participate in creating the Risk Assessments. Employee will be trained for future duties involving manufacturing of samples using band saw, CNC lathe and CNCN mill, and Charpy v-notch broach. Perform other duties as assigned.
