Candidates selected for this position must be able to travel out of town for short periods of time, and work nights as needed to perform the duties of the position. Performance incentivesHeath, Life, Vision, Dental InsuranceRetirement plan and company contributionVehicle and Cell phone allowanceGenerous PTO Estimator Duties & Responsibilities:Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects.Lead or Perform portions of estimates for multi-discipline projects including understanding scope and performing accurate quantity surveys.Supervise and train other estimators in your primary area of expertise.Solicit Subcontractor and/or Vendor quotes and evaluate them for scope and qualifications.Lead meetings with Subcontractors to develop complete scopes and discuss strategy.Perform risk and contract management responsibilities as required on bids.Negotiate scopes of work with subcontractors through mutual acceptance.Assist in developing a strategy to achieve minority participation requirements.Review total estimate to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to formal quotation.Monitor comparison of estimated costs to actual costs.Research and promote continuous improvement in developing more efficient estimating methods.Engage in ongoing dialogue with Operations teams and visit construction sites for continual process improvement.Prepare and present information to management and clients in a clear, concise manner.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in civil or architectural engineering, construction management, or an equivalent degree highly preferred5-10 years of estimating experience, specifically large hospitals, aviation, or sports facilities of $100M minimum in value.Proven experience leading large teams on large pursuits.Some field or project management experience in conjunction with estimating experience highly preferred.Proven experience with conceptual and self-performing estimation.Exceptional time management, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.Excellent research, proposal writing, and oral presentation skills.Extensive knowledge of best industry practices and standards.Advanced computer skills and demonstrable competency with estimating software.10% travel within the state to be expected.
