The NDC receives a wide range of referrals resulting in opportunities to work with children aged 2 through college age in a dynamic setting with supportive administrative staff and colleagues. Referral questions are varied and include ADHD, learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, language/communication disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, psychosis, and trauma. A percentage of individuals are referred with complex medical histories including post-concussion syndrome, seizure disorders, in utero substance exposure, and genetic disorders. Options to provide supervision and run seminars are available to qualified staff clinicians through the training program as are opportunities to provide care and consultation within other psychiatry services at the hospital, which includes pediatric inpatient psychiatry unit, adolescent partial hospital program, and three busy outpatient clinics. Experience with a range of neurodevelopmental disorders; including autism spectrum, attention deficit, and intellectual disabilities required. Interest in and experience with psychological testing, including projective measures, and/or young child (< 5 years old) preferred.
