This individual assists at the surgical field passing instruments and supplies to other members of the surgical team. Participates in preparing and equipping the surgical suites, and maintains sterile technique while providing supplies and instruments for various procedures. Provides basic patient care and unit support under the direct supervision of an RN. This role performs a broad range of tasks essential to safe and efficient patient care, but not requiring RN level licensure or skills. QualificationsExperience:1 year Surgical Technologist experience preferred. Women’s Services experience preferred. Education:High school diploma or equivalent.Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program or completion of a military training program for surgical technologists.As of January 1, 2017, in lieu of the formal Surgical Technologist training program requirement, may substitute professional experience if candidate has worked 2 out of last 3 years as Surgical Technologist. The RN Staff Nurse assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for Legacy Health System including those for patient assessment and transfer.QualificationsEducation: As required by licensure. BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred. BSN may be required for specific assignments; experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO.
