The successful applicant will be expected to build several backend systems to support the needs of multiple departments and be strong in Python3. Responsibilities and Duties Lead the backend development and deployment of customer provisioning and installation tools to reduce installation times and to improve technician efficiency Lead the backend development and deployment of customer self-help tools empowering customers to self-diagnose internet issues Lead the backend development and deployment of software systems for automated optimization and diagnostics that reduce the workload and improve the efficiency of the customer support team Work cooperatively with the sales, customer support, field operations and network DevOps teams to understand requirements and to translate those into work plans Required Qualifications BS/MS degree in Computer Science, or a related subject. 3 years of software engineering experience. Strong experience with Python3, and associated frameworks (Django, Flask,). Strong experience with building and using REST API’s. Strong knowledge of CRUD operations - including writing efficient SQL, transactions & ACID compliance. Familiar with front-end technologies, including MVC, reactive and functional methodologies. Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc. Solid understanding of the software development process through all phases of collecting requirements, designing, implementing, deploying and maintenance. Solid understanding of continuous development/integration methodologies. Strongly familiar with, and guided by, secure development practices, such as the OWASP Top-10. Experience working with standard software engineering tools, such as Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, Git, etc. Experience with common workflow methodologies, such as Agile, Kanban, SCRUM. Up to date on the latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently; a thirst & passion for learning new things. Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management. Able to multitask, collaborate, prioritize, and manage time efficiently. Self-motivated and takes initiative with little direction. Eligibility to work in the United States for any employer Desirable Qualifications Experience with the following technologies & methodologies: Cloud computing infrastructure (e.g. AWS/GCP/VMware) Working in a Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) Performing functional code reviews, static code analysis, etc. Test automation tools, such as Selenium, Puppeteer, etc. Building endpoints for mobile applications. Authentication & authorization, including 2FA/MFA technologies. Frontend technologies, such as Javascript, CSS, HTML5, etc. Graph databases, such as Neo4J, Neptune, Tiger, Janus, etc. Experience with working in a startup environment and/or with building software systems from the ground
