Our products are all start-up companies that were purchased by our larger umbrella company, so the culture at each product varies and their knowledge of what a project manager provides is limited. So the current request is to facilitate meetings, take notes, and be a task master to ensure things are getting done. We both know a PM can do a lot more than that, so I'd love someone who can bring the full PM picture to this team, but not be overbearing about it, there are some strong personalities at play. Explanation of aboveNo one on their team has bandwidth.Product has a good culture and lot of smart people on the team.This is their product -for doggy day cares and grooming and boarding- application -if you are set up as a customer- and paying- it could be this product application200 location client for this product -they are implementing this system into 200 locations- they want to see some dev enhancement that need to happen before going liveRest of the roll outs in Jan and FebThis role is going to be meetings heavy- if they have control over their calendar at the other role is going to fineOther meetings include client meetings, Executive leadership meetings twice a week (internal and external), Client PM meetings, and Project team meetingsNeeds someone who can adjust expectations and help team move in the right direction- facilitate meetings, schedule meetings, take notes - knows a PM can add more value than that, but an PM that comes in to overhaul is not going to work with this team. PURPOSE:The Director IT - Quality Engineering is responsible for developing, leading, and executing the test automation best practices strategy through planning, coordinating, and supervising all activities related to the design, development, and implementation of test automation. As the driver of the testing for all solutions in the enterprise, whether SaaS, COTS, or internally developed, this role defines and measures the best methods for testing the solutions, from physical device testing to fully automated testing.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Design, Implementation Quality Engineering Establish, maintain, and support monitoring Quality KPIs across all Quality systems. Analyze and communicate data trends, offering insights and recommendations to senior management. Identify opportunities for enhancing data quality, addressing issues through error detection, correction, and process control. Apply deep knowledge of frameworks tools and leverage emerging technologies to move strategies and implementations. Participates in the ongoing evolution of process/methodologies that pertain to the software development lifecycle, people management, business process or information services. Process Review, Design, Approvals, Execution Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the organization. Establish and conduct advanced root cause analysis training for staff to enhance problem-solving capabilities. Conducts investigations for the resolution of complex quality problems. Develop and deliver training on structured problem-solving techniques. Drive innovation in quality engineering practices and tools. Provide statistical expertise across technical domains such as process control, design of experiments, and data analysis; review relevant statistical studies, regulatory standards, and emerging trends. Define gaps in processes for reviewing quality defects, overall test case coverage, performance KPI's and metrics and design. Directs plans to design, execute, and approve processes in Policies and Programs. Initiate and lead the collaboration with product management, engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure test automation and reporting is a repeatable and consistent part of the SDLC/Agile process. Maintains an environment where all understand, and are committed to, providing excellent service to internal and external customers. Leadership and Team Management Accountable for all aspects of managing the team including delegation, performance management, coaching, and development. Identifies and organize activities requiring resources across the Information Technology Department. JOB REQUIREMENTS:Education/ Certifications/or Equivalent combination of education training and experience: Bachelor's degree in management information systems, computer science, or related discipline. Advanced Degree preferred. Experience: 10+ years of experience in software quality engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience creating and implementing strategies, roadmaps, and standards for quality engineering related to cloud migration and cloud-native technologies, supporting application development teams. Proven track record of leading successful QE teams in a fast-paced, agile environment. Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes. Experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices. Previous experience with open source or in-house test automation frameworks, test design strategies, and automating tests for distributed systems, micro-services, and web services. Demonstrated ability to influence key Technical Service and Business leaders. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Experience in Supply Chain business practices and associated industry software tools preferred. Certification in Quality Assurance (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE) is a plus. Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements (e.g., ISO, GDPR, HIPAA). Must have strong computer skills and be proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications. Exposure to methodologies and specific quality assessment/certifications such as SDLC, PMP. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong customer focus and demonstrated ability to work in geographically dispersed teams. Ability to manage competing priorities. Ability to create process and process design where none or little exists. Ability to create strategic landscape that delivers against IT goals. Ability to build strong teams across dispersed work locations, including mentoring and providing developmental goals. Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available Additional Information: Schedule: Full-time Salary range is 165,000-185,000 PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/ DEMANDS: Some travel may be required.
