Brown's School of Engineering (SOE) is seeking applicants for a faculty position at the rank of Lecturer. The initial appointment would be for a 3-year period (renewable with potential for promotion and longer-term contracts). This position is part of a major expansion of the SOE over the next few years. The position involves teaching up to four undergraduate courses per year and advising undergraduate engineering concentrators. At least some of the teaching would be in first- and second-year course offerings. Candidates also will teach some upper-level undergraduate courses, based on their expertise and SOE needs. A background in engineering and/or physics and the ability to direct student projects with a MATLAB or Python coding element is essential. The SOE seeks candidates who will contribute to its overall intellectual culture. Lecturers are voting members of the Brown faculty, are included in faculty meetings, advise undergraduate research projects, and may participate in graduate research with SOE faculty.
