The Shipping Supervisor will interact with delivery drivers, organize a team of shipping associates, manage storage trailers in the lot, and drive improvement within the department. Areas of Accountability • Supervise the delivery of a range of raw materials and finished goods to ensure all goods and supplies are stored and recorded following established procedures. • Manage Shipping/Warehouse related documentation and records (general production & compliance related). • Coordinate unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, and picking and staging of outbound shipments. • Provide concise reporting to management on shipping/warehousing performance, issues, and actions. • Develop clear and easy to follow warehouse processes that drive consistency and accountability. • Move goods as necessary, including loading and unloading of trailers. Manage Inventory • Ensure materials and finished goods are organized and prepared to facilitate month end inventory counts. • Manage requests for inventory counts throughout the month as needed by production or the planning team. • Implement and manage Kanban inventory levels. • Audit shipping/warehouse related work and core processes for adherence and improvement purposes. Safety & Quality Focus • Follow all standardized shipping procedures and collaborate with Quality department to ensure zero shipping related quality issues. • Respond to assigned issues and ensure that root cause is determined, and corrective actions are implemented to drive improvement. • Ensure shipping associates follow all safety procedures and use appropriate PPE. • Ensure compliance with forklift safety procedures, daily inspections, and report equipment issues. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience • High School Diploma or equivalent • Managerial Experience - Basic experience of coordinating the work of others (6 - 12 months) • Able to work weekends when needed. • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills. • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. • JD Edwards (ERP) experience is a plus. • Spanish fluency is a plus.
