A successful candidate in the IT Specialist (SYSADMIN/DATAMGT) position will serve as an IT specialist performing duties associated with System Administration, Data Management and Systems Analysis specialty areas. Responsibilities As an IT Specialist (SYSADMIN/DATAMGT), you will: Perform a variety of work involving planning and coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems. Generate and run simulation models for future applications. Evaluate and verify impacts on the current and planned enterprise IT architecture. Develop and present plans for integrating new server technology into existing architecture. Perform a variety of work involving planning, development, implementation, and administration of systems for the acquisition, storage, and retrieval of data. Provide guidance for the application of data modeling practices to the development of data management applications. Lead teams to develop and implement new data management schema. Lead/conduct studies designed to identify potential improvements in the way information technology is applied to key business functions. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Experience in 1) Providing direction and leadership in the planning, deployment, and administration of Microsoft SQL Database systems/Always On implementation; 2) Testing, upgrading, patching, troubleshooting and maintaining Server operating systems, hardware and software systems to support MS SQL Relational Databases; 3) Coding and scripting using PowerShell, TSQL and Puppet for the database management process automation; 4) Performing a variety of work involving planning, development, implementation, and administration of Server operating systems for the acquisition, storage, and retrieval of data; 5) Managing and maintaining Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) for data at rest; 6) Managing and maintaining SQL Server Database Security including least privilege access using roll-based access control (RBAC); 7) Performance tuning at different levels such as network level, cluster level, server level, database level, instance level, session level, and SQL statement level.
