They must be well-versed in pharmaceutical principles, medication dispensing, regulatory compliance and patient safety.The Rural and Underserved Service Track (TRUST) is 2-year, interprofessional, co-curricular program, for students enrolled in Binghamton University (School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Department of Social Work, Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and Division of Public Health) or SUNY Upstate Medical University (Norton College of Medicine). Currently, students participate in 8 learning retreats and 10 service-learning activities over the course of two years in a micro-credentialed program. There are approximately 80 scholars currently enrolled in the program, with representation from each discipline. The program aims to expand to other regional healthcare professionals with an asynchronous hybrid training platform in the upcoming years.
