Where traditional teacher preparation leaves little time for hands-on skill-building, our innovative training is centered around actual teaching experience in summer school classrooms. Fellows practice core skills that they need in order to be successful on their first day of teaching and ground their pedagogy in culturally responsive teaching. There is no cost for this training, but Fellows are responsible for expenses related to pre-employment requirements such as background checks, fingerprinting (approximately $50) and state required certification exam fees ($45-150 each).Full Salary and Benefits: Fellows are hired as full-time teachers by our school partners and will begin teaching for the 2024-25 school year.
