This includes both physical and social sciences. The exact topic of the research performed by the Research Fellow can be self-motivated and defined but should be synergistic with ongoing research in the Mangrove Lab. Areas of interest include:·         Mangrove carbon stocks, and site-scale drivers of variation·         Greenhouse gas flux measurements in blue carbon ecosystems (using LI-COR or equivalent)·         Blue carbon budgets·         Blue carbon accounting using existing carbon credit protocols (e.g., Verra) or national accounting guidance·         Social science aspects of blue carbon, including investigating socioeconomic and governance constraints to blue carbon projects International field work will be expected, and may include the Caribbean, Latin America and the Pacific. The candidate should show willingness to conduct remote fieldwork in these locations for extended periods of time. The candidate will also gain experience in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students in their field of expertise.
