The intern will receive training on how to work with refugee and newcomer families, how to work with children who have experienced trauma, human trafficking, and other topics. The intern will play a key role in providing organizational support to staff and will advance efforts to build robust networks of community service providers. For summer 2024, interns will also participate in CWS Jersey City Summer Programming. Interns must commit to one or two full days per week for Summer 2024. This is an unpaid position but expenses related to the daily commute to and from the office may be reimbursed.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:Assist with planning, implementing, and supporting CWS Summer Programming 2024 during the months of July and August.Support Case Managers and Program Manager on assisting refugee and immigrant families within the CWS Jersey City office. Assistant General Manager

Job Description Summary The Assistant General Manager (AGM) will work closely with the General Manager (GM) to deliver results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hotel by accomplishing performance objectives focused on driving revenue, controlling costs, providing guest and associate satisfaction, and delivering product and service quality. The AGM in conjunction with the GM will work directly with Sonesta's marketing, revenue management, and sales team and the shared accounting, facilities, human resources, information technology and procurement services that support the hotels.Job DescriptionDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients. Manage according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards and instill a passion for customer service in all associates of the hotel. Create processes and procedures to ensure the hotel is properly supplied with all guest amenities, all food and beverage outlets are meeting guest expectations, and the hotel is properly maintained and clean.Assists with the direct sales activities of the hotel in partnership with the hotel's Director of Sales (DOS), Regional Sales Director (RSD) and Global Sales Office (GSO) to uncover the appropriate demand located in the hotel's trade area. The CWS Home Study and Post Release Services (HSPRS) Program provides assistance to unaccompanied children and their families and works closely with the Office of Refugee Resettlement, CWS local offices, and affiliates across the United States. PurposeChurch World Service (CWS) is seeking an intern to support our Home Study and Post Release Services (HSPRS) Program. The HSPRS intern will assist the HSPRS team of case workers / social workers with the provision of services to recently arrived unaccompanied children who have been reunited with a relative or family friend. An unaccompanied child is defined as anyone under the age of eighteen who has arrived in the United States without legal status, and not in the company of a parent or legal guardian. The HSPRS intern will receive training on unaccompanied children, working with children who have experienced trauma, human trafficking, among other topics. The intern will play a key role in providing organizational support to staff and will advance efforts to build robust networks of community service providers. This internship offers valuable real-world experience in social work, advocacy, and social justice. Interns must commit to 1 or 2 days a week (full workday) for two semesters.
