Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center Office of Cancer Career Enhancement and Training (OCCET) is seeking an Academic or Clinical Program Management & Services Associate to provide administrative support for programs such as the Post-Baccalaureate Fellowship Program (ICARE), HCCC Research Seminar Series, Career Development Series, Clinical Trials Bootcamp, and Postdoc Skill Building Series as part of the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center (HCCC). This position will also represent OCCET at recruitment conferences. The goal of the OCCET is to establish and foster infrastructure that coordinates and facilitates educational opportunities to enhance the careers of cancer researchers, clinicians, and community providers. This office is a central hub of resources for trainees and caregivers at every stage within the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center. Key areas of responsibility include coordination of routine/non-routine and confidential tasks in support of the academic programs. Serve as point of contact for programs and provide information, guidance, and interpretation of UI academic policies and procedures. Coordinate enrollment, orientation, onboarding, courses, and events. Contribute to the strategic goals of the programs by upholding academic integrity, promoting student engagement, and supporting student success. May perform other duties as assigned. In this role you will be responsible for installing, maintaining and operating natural gas plastic and metal mains, services and related equipment, including welding fabrication of meter sets, regulator stations, and odorizer equipment, and other duties as may be necessary to provide natural gas service to customers. + This classification shall have a twenty (20) minute residency requirement of Clinton Operations Center. + This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver's License **What you will be doing** + Perform all duties so as to insure personal safety as well as the safety of other employees and the public. + Fabricate and weld various gas system facilities such as distribution regulator stations, large volume meter sets, odorizer equipment, plates, tanks and miscellaneous steel in the shop, etc. + Install, remove, replace and repair natural gas mains, services, pressure regulators, meters, valves, and other related gas distribution facilities, including the installation of plastic mains and services using fusion and mechanical fittings. + Weld gas pipes and fittings with both electric and gas welding equipment. + Fuses gas pipes and fitting through both butt fusion, socket fusion and electro-fusion equipment. + Cut, thread, and assemble screwed joint pipe and fittings. + Install mechanical joints and repair sleeves or pipe. + Sets-up, operates and taps live main lines, and install branch and service connections using high pressure tapping equipment. + Operate power tools and excavating and ditching equipment as required. + Install and maintain various types of metering and regulating equipment. + Installs barriers and shields to protect all against eye injury from flash. + Must report to work fit for duty and free from the effects of drug and alcohol abuse. + Patrol and inspect gas distribution lines and equipment. + Locate underground facilities using pipe/cable locating equipment. + Conduct leak surveys. + Operate and maintain L.P. peak shaving facilities. + Incidental to the responsibilities listed, operate a company-owned vehicle, operate various air, hydraulic, and electric power tools, provide for the maintenance of all equipment assigned to him/her. + Perform incidental duties such as changing of pressure charts, checking of odorizers, etc. + Perform such clerical work as may be needed to provide and maintain the necessary reports and record required by the company. + Instruct and direct the work of lesser grade employees. + Perform other duties as may be required. + **Education Requirements** + High School Diploma **Preferred Experience** + Willing to take appropriate training to so qualify under the Joint Apprenticeship Program **Other Requirements** + Willing to obtain and maintain Class "A" CDL **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities** + Have the ability to fabricate and weld on special natural gas installations such as meter sets, regulator stations, etc. + Understanding of the requirements for work in Confined Spaces and in Trenching and Shoring standards + Ability to read and comprehend company operating standards, Right To Know information, safety rules, equipment and technical manuals + Be certified in CPR and First Aid + Good mechanical ability + Ability to work harmoniously with other employees + Know and practice good public relationsOur people are passionate about what they do, the product they sell, and the customers they serve.
