BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY Function as an Advanced Practice Nurse and change agent incorporating the primary role of nurse practitioner and the supporting roles of consultant, educator, researcher, and administrator to support quality care and positive patient outcomes. This growing outpatient practice incorporates a multidisciplinary approach to patient care involving physicians, mid-level providers, dieticians, and certified diabetes educators to treat patients with obesity. The successful candidate will be expected to manage a panel of patients independently as well as work with the multidisciplinary team in a shared care model. CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assure clinical competency and expertise in areas of weight management, endocrinology and diabetes. Function independently and/or as a member of an interdisciplinary team to plan, deliver and evaluate health care for patients with weight management, diabetes and endocrine diseases. Collaborate with nursing staff/nursing administration to monitor and evaluate the quality of patient care. Determine nursing care requirements and develop programs for weight management, endocrine/diabetes patients, with regard to patient condition and ag and follow universal precautions.
