The Senior Bird Conservation Specialist will be responsible for leading on-the-ground monitoring and management of sihek (Guam kingfisher, Todiramphus cinnamominus) released to Palmyra Atoll, including daily behavioral observations; regular health evaluations; population surveys; monitoring and management of breeding; biological sample collection; ecological assessments including invertebrate sampling and classification; and regular and rigorous data entry, management, and reporting. They will work closely in the field with another Bird Conservation Specialist but will also be expected to work independently and autonomously on a regular basis.
