The Life Enrichment Specialist may be asked to provide departmental leadership in the absence of the Life Enrichment Director.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSInclude the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.Provides quality Customer Service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction.Implementation of individualized programs and services to residents at every level of care in the community, including those in memory care who suffer from chronic cognitive disease such as Dementia & Alzheimer’s, skilled nursing and, those who need medical assistance and residents who are fully independent.Works closely with all departments associated with activity programs.Ensures active collaboration with outside community organizations to enhance programming.Coordinates all necessary transportation.Coordinates resident and outside community member volunteers needed for Life Enrichment programming.Is able to operate the appropriate technical equipment necessary to running a comprehensive Life Enrichment program.Has a working knowledge of and complies with OBRA and Title 22 guidelines.Use computer, office, adaptive and various recreation program equipment and supplies.Is fiscally responsible for operating within the departmental budget.Supervisory responsibilities include supervising 1-4 Life Enrichment Assistants as well as volunteers.Specific to SNF facilities:Regularly assess resident’s abilities as they relate to activities.Actively participate as a member of the team responsible for developing and implementing resident care plans.Coordinate documentation as required by the facility and governmental agencies.Maintain current resident attendance records and monitor resident attendance in SNF and/or memory care.Follows department safety standards, practice body mechanic techniques and participate in campus-wide safety programs.Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner. Wears PPE/safety equipment as required for the job. Reports any safety hazards and/or accidents to supervisor.Attends all mandatory meetings and in-services as required by the Executive Director.JOB REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
