Guests flocked to Six Flags Over Texas when the park opened in 1961. Six park sections modeled after the culture of the six countries whose flags flew over Texas during the state’s colorful history, created a spectacular and magical setting for guests and inspired the park’s now famous Six Flags name. The original inventive themes afforded guests a chance to experience places and times that previously only existed in their imaginations, including cowboy culture, French and Spanish cultures and even southern belles and pirates.Six Flags is the gold standard of regional theme park entertainment, we are proud to have grown to 15 parks in North America and employ nearly 35,000 people. Fifteen Six Flags theme parks are the largest in the United States and are within an eight-hour drive for most people. Six Flags operates 160 world-class roller coasters, more than all other theme parks in the world, combined. Six Flags’ regional theme parks play host to nearly 50 million guests a year and feature accommodations, upscale restaurants, entertainment, one-of-a kind rides, animal attractions, water slides and souvenirs.

Six Flags Friends is a proud supporter of hundreds of organizations throughout our Six Flags communities. Through our national partnerships, we successfully utilize our geographic span to make a difference as a unified family of parks. Through our donation program we are able to contribute to many local organizations. Six Flags St. Louis is also pleased to support the work of local Missouri organizations that make an impact in our surrounding neighborhoods. It is the work of the organizations below that truly make our cities a better place to live, work and enjoy.
