The company was formed after the takeover of Sky Chefs, American Airlines' former catering subsidiary, by Lufthansa’s catering division Lufthansa Service GmbH. Over the past two decades in particular, LSG Sky Chefs has considerably expanded its worldwide presence. Through its catering expertise, LSG Sky Chefs has developed specialized skills in the planning, implementation and management of all processes related to in-flight services. That includes the design, development, procurement and logistics related to in-flight services equipment.
