Established in 1939, it is the 2nd largest propane marketer in the United States and is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol FGP. Ferrellgas Employee-Owners own approximately 50% of the Partnership through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan. Ferrellgas is approximately 50 percent owned by an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), and eligible Ferrellgas Employees begin receiving stock through the plan after completing one year of service.
