Safely and efficiently operate equipment that may include forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader and other equipment using proper safety standards. * Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste in materials. * Continuously monitor the condition of the equipment to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize down time; clean tracks or wheels on equipment, as needed. * Perform and document minor service on equipment, referring more complicated mechanical issues to Maintenance Shop for repair. * Complete Equipment Condition Report and other reports, as necessary; report any necessary repairs to supervisor, as needed. * Follow all required safety policies and procedures. * Ensure that shop is clean, serviced and stored at the completion of each shift. * Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications: * Two years prior related experience in heavy equipment operation. * Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner. * Good follow through ability; ability to adhere to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise. * Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules set forth; promotes the Company's safety standards; does not take inappropriate risks. * Maintains a feeling of pride in work; strives to achieve all goals. Our WIN Waste Innovations facility is currently seeking a Fuel and Ash Handler I who can monitor and operate auxiliary equipment to maintain safe, efficient, and continuous plant operations. The Fuel and Ash Handler will perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs to ash handling, tipping floor, and other assigned auxiliary systems. They will also be responsible for operating ash handling equipment and loading metals as assigned. Essential Functions: * Operates mobile equipment including, but not limited to, industrial forklifts, manlifts, skid steer type loaders, and other mobile equipment. * Operates and completes all inspections on frontend loader on the Tipping Floor and in Ash House areas * Qualified to operate refuse crane and front-end loader as required in support and employee relief capacity * Applies mechanical knowledge and skills sufficient to perform routine tasks such as opening vessels and equipment access doors, placing and removing furnace access equipment, overhead protection and staging, operating power tools and performing minor repairs to plant equipment and structures. * Maintains and follows all Company environmental compliance, health and safety requirements, policies, procedures and rules. * Use of 15,000 psi water blaster systems for cleaning, drain clearing and other activates as assigned following competency training. * Use of mobile water pumps including diesel operated, gasoline powered, pneumatic and hydraulic. MSW Ash dewatering evolutions and compliant ash handling. * Follows standard safety procedures. Corrects safety and environmental hazards and reports them to supervision immediately * Work overtime and/or rotating shifts as required * Shovels loose materials such as sand, gravel, metals, plastics, or chemicals into machine hoppers or into vehicles and containers such as wheelbarrows, scrap truck, or barrels. Qualifications: * High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent work experience * Mechanical abilities sufficient to perform equipment maintenance, minor repairs, and general preventative maintenance.
